How we are working in these Covid-19 times

11

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way everyone works, and the security and home alarms sector is no different. The nature of our work, surveying people’s homes and commercial premises, installing security systems and carrying out servicing and maintenance visits, means that we are obliged to operate at least some of the time out of the office, with face-to-face appointments attending people’s property an essential part of what we do.

We understand that our customers will have questions about how we keep both them and our engineers safe during these visits, as well as what to do in an emergency, or if you have any questions or are looking for a quote. Read on to find out how Prism Alarms and Security is operating during the current pandemic and its associated national restrictions.

Quotes and enquiries
We are still providing quotes and advice to current and potential customers as part of our ongoing commitment to providing top quality service throughout the pandemic. These quotes are provided over the phone, via video link and by email and cover both brand new systems, upgrades and repairs.

Monitoring and responding
All systems will continue to be monitored 24/7 and any unexpected activity reported and responded to as appropriate. Home visits for non-emergency reasons, such as a planned installation, system upgrade or servicing appointment will go ahead providing that certain requirements are met. We are obliged to take precautions in line with Government guidance. So, we will check in advance whether you or anyone in your household have Covid-19 related symptoms, are self-isolating or are at a higher medical risk. We will also take steps to ensure that our engineers are free from Covid-19 infections prior to the visit. Our engineers will maintain safe distancing and wear the appropriate PPE during the entirety of the visit.

Installations and inspections
If you wish your planned installation to go ahead, we can do that for you and are taking the health of you and our installation teams extremely seriously. Our engineers will maintain a two-metre distance from you and any other members of your household at all times and wear the correct PPE. This will include, but not be limited to face masks, gloves, protective clothing and hand sanitiser. Every installation will be followed up 48 hours later with a phone call to ensure that there are no issues, queries or concerns.

Emergencies and updates
Rest assured that, should your alarm system report an emergency event, our response teams will attend your property as quickly as possible in the same way as they would have done prior to the pandemic taking hold. If your system is connected to the police, they will be standing by to respond to the alarm being triggered. We take the safety of our customers extremely seriously and we will always respond in an emergency, wearing suitable PPE and taking all possible safety precautions.

The pandemic situation is evolving and changing all the time. We are constantly adjusting and adapting our response to keep track so that we can keep our customers safe and protected at all times.
